Principal Managing Partner

MS, CFP®, AIF®, CMFCAAMS

Gary K. Liska, MS, CFP®, AIF®, CMFC®, AAMS®, is a Principal Managing Partner at Signature Estate & Investment Advisors (SEIA) and one of the firm’s four founding partners. Since entering the securities and insurance industry in 1994, Gary has helped affluent individuals, families, and organizations navigate the investment, retirement, estate, and legacy decisions that shape long-term financial well-being.

Gary’s approach is rooted in the belief that wealth management should bring clarity to an increasingly complex financial life. Investment decisions, retirement-income needs, taxes, concentrated positions, estate plans, family priorities, and charitable goals often need to work together. He helps clients consider these moving pieces through a coordinated strategy that reflects what they want their wealth to support today and across future generations.

His work is particularly focused on investment management, retirement planning, estate and legacy strategies, and tax-aware planning. Gary has written and spoken about retirement planning in periods of inflation and market uncertainty, portfolio-risk management, concentrated stock positions, charitable remainder trusts, and preparing heirs for the responsibilities that may accompany family wealth.

As a member of SEIA’s Investment Committee, Gary contributes to the firm’s ongoing evaluation of market conditions, fixed income, equities, alternative investments, and portfolio strategy. He has also presented hundreds of seminars throughout Southern California on investment, tax, retirement, and estate-planning topics.

Beyond his client work, Gary has helped build SEIA’s advisor platform and mentor the next generation of advisors. He previously served as the firm’s Chief Financial Officer while maintaining an active advisory practice, before transitioning those responsibilities to a full-time CFO as SEIA continued to grow.

Gary has contributed financial-planning and wealth-management insights to Worth Magazine and other publications. He is also active in community and charitable initiatives, including the Signature Fund for Giving. An Eagle Scout, Gary remains involved with the Eagle Scout Association.

Gary earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Economics from the University of California, Santa Cruz, and his Master of Science degree in Financial Planning from the College for Financial Planning. He became a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER professional in 1996 and completed the Chartered Mutual Fund Counselor program in 1998. He also holds the Accredited Investment Fiduciary® and Accredited Asset Management Specialist® designations and is a licensed insurance agent, California Insurance License #0B39385.

Gary lives in Pacific Palisades, California, with his wife and two sons.
